“Mob Psycho 100” Manga Gets Live-Action TV Drama Adaptation

It has announced by TV Tokyo channel via DoDora that Mob Psycho 100 based on web manga by ONE is receiving a live-action drama adaptation in collaboration with Netflix, which is scheduled to premiere in January 2018 through announcement it was also revealed that Tatsuomi Hamada will play as the main character Mob in the film.

Studio BONES, who previously produced Mob Psycho 100 TV anime adaptation also announced that will be more details on this project with the release of volume 15 of the manga.

The story follows Shigeo Kageyama an average middle school boy, nicknamed Mob for lacking a sense of presence. Although he looks like an inconspicuous person, he is, in fact, a powerful esper. As he grows older, Mob realizes that his psychic powers are strengthening and more dangerous. To avoid his power getting out of control, he constantly lives a life under an emotional shackle. Mob wants to live a normal life just like the others, but a lot of trouble keeps coming after him. With the crushed emotions growing inside Mob little by little, his power threatens to break through its limits.

Mob Psycho 100 began publication on Ura Sunday on April 18, 2012. A Chinese translation started publication in Taiwan on April 16, 2014. It is also available online on Shogakukan’s mobile app MangaONE, beginning in December 2014. One’s webcomic began its publication on April 12, 2012, on Ura Sunday. Shogakukan began publishing the series in tankōbon volumes, with the first volume being published on November 16, 2012. An anime television adaptation by Bones aired on 11 July 2016 with 12 episodes.
